About my history, in a nutshell:
A native New Yorker, I graduated from the State University of New York at Albany with a B.A. in Sociology and a minor in Communications, and later studied Fashion Art and Design at FIT. A large chunk of my professional experience has been in the corporate world, primarily at various types of media companies. There was a long stint at Grey Advertising in TV Production, then Real Media, an internet ad sales network with all the thrills and chills of the late-90's internet explosion, and, most recently, In Demand, provider of cable TV pay-per-view and movies-on-demand, where I was right-hand to the CEO and proud author of those little blurbs you see on your on-screen programming guide.
I certainly gained invaluable experience, and enjoyed contributing to and being an integral part of the companies where I worked, often implementing new technologies and ensuring that so much of the business ran smoothly. I also knew that at heart, I'm more of a conceptual, creative, "people" person. In a quest to merge my experience with my more creative, people-oriented sensibilities, I kept my eyes and ears open - and it didn't take much to realize that coaching would, in fact, put my strengths, experience, and passions to terrific use.
So now, after joining the International Coaching Federation, completing training at Coach U, and starting up my practice, I'm actually getting to do all that amazing stuff that resonated so well with me. I get to coach people of all backgrounds and personalities, and help each discover and reach their own unique goal. And I learn incredible things from each one.
Best regards,
Susan
