About me and my history, in a (not-so- ) nutshell:

A native New Yorker, I graduated from the State University of New York at Albany with a B.A. in Sociology and a minor in Communications, and later studied Fashion Art and Design at FIT. A large chunk of my professional experience has been in the corporate world, primarily at various types of media companies. There was a long stint at Grey Advertising in TV Production, then Real Media, an internet ad sales network with all the thrills and chills of the late-90's internet explosion, and, most recently, In Demand, provider of cable TV pay-per-view and movies-on-demand, where I was right-hand to the CEO and proud author of those little blurbs you see on your on-screen programming guide.

I certainly learned a lot about some fascinating industries, but most of these jobs called for a skill set that, quite honestly, I ain't got! They called for heavy organizational skills and attention to detail. Me, I'm more of a conceptual, creative, "people" person. Somehow I managed to focus and not only be competent, but actually be considered quite good at what I did. Still, even with more lawyers among my family and friends than Enron would ever need, doing the big corporate thing just never felt like my style.

Now here's where it gets interesting... :-)

How to merge all I'd learned with my more creative, people-oriented sensibilities? Keeping my eyes and ears open, it didn't take much to realize that coaching would, in fact, put my strengths to terrific use. The very idea of listening to clients, helping them clarify what it is they really want, then exploring creative ways to tap into their personal resources to help them leap ahead and get it, well...it just seemed so perfectly suited to what I love to do! And, hey... going back to some of those old companies and help them team-build and become more employee-driven and profitable? Way cool!

So now, after joining the International Coaching Federation, completing training at Coach U, and starting up my practice, I'm actually getting to do all that amazing stuff that resonated so well with me. Yes, in addition to designing custom fashions and forging ahead on my biggest project yet - adopting a baby girl internationally! - I get to coach people of all backgrounds and personalities, and help them make their own, unique leaps. And I learn incredible things from each one.

But enough about me. Let's talk about YOU!

Best regards,

Susan
